Wellbeing Through Movement & Stillness
Helping you live, function and feel better

Welcome to Ray Holistic Wellness.

My sessions use purposeful movement, breath awareness and stillness to help you maintain mobility, develop strength and balance, release unnecessary tension and feel more at ease in your body and mind.

The emphasis is not on achieving perfect postures, performing exercises or fitting into a particular movement system. The exercise is the tool—not the goal. What matters is whether the movement is appropriate for you and whether it supports the way you live and feel.

My teaching is informed by more than 25 years of experience and draws upon yoga, Pilates, Qigong, mindful mobility, functional movement, conscious breathing and guided relaxation. These approaches are thoughtfully combined rather than treated as separate disciplines.

Ray, a fully qualified yoga teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience, gives sessions. Advanced teacher courses include Yoga for Athletes, Yoga for Mental Health and Wellness, and Hip Intensive by Yoga Medicine.

Movement That Meets You Where You Are

Every body is different, and what feels appropriate may change from one day to another.

For this reason, movements are presented with different options. You are encouraged to listen to your body and choose what feels suitable for you—whether that means exploring a little more, doing less or taking time to recover.

There is no pressure to keep up with anyone else. Range of movement, repetitions and appearance do not determine success. The aim is to move with awareness, find a balance between effort and ease, and do enough for your needs at that moment.

Sessions can be adapted for:

  • People beginning or returning to movement
  • Older adults
  • People managing physical restrictions
  • Those experiencing stress, anxiety or low mood
  • Active people wishing to improve mobility, balance and body awareness
  • Anyone wanting to move and feel better without pressure to perform

Chair-supported and gentler options are available whenever appropriate.

Therapeutic applications and individualized practices support students on all levels.

More Than an Exercise Class

Movement can help us maintain our independence, confidence and ability to participate in everyday life. It can also provide an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with ourselves and cultivate a calmer mind.

Each session therefore considers the whole person—not simply individual muscles, exercises or postures. Appropriate activation is balanced with mobility, breathing, awareness and relaxation.

You do not have to be flexible, experienced or physically fit to begin. You simply need to be willing to explore movement in a way that respects your body.

Movement should serve life.

My hope is that you leave each session with greater confidence in your body, more trust in yourself and a renewed sense of wellbeing.
