Happiness & Yoga

Many books and articles have been written on happiness and how to achieve it. Some people search for happiness in external things, like buying material things, earning an academic degree, winning in sports, etc.

Harvard studies have found that obtaining and maintaining positive relationships and connections is the most crucial factor in happiness.

Many other factors contribute to happiness. One is having a great relationship with oneself, respecting and loving oneself, and caring for one’s physical, emotional, and mental aspects.

One can increase happiness by being aware of moments and our reactions. There are bad moments that happen to us that we have no control over, but we can still control our reactions and not be overreactive. There are moments to cherish, and there are moments that we can create to live a meaningful and purposeful life.

Being kind and serving oneself and others are two other factors that contribute to inner happiness and peace.

Overall, inner peace is a tranquillity in which you feel comfortable with yourself and others. It involves being fully present and less impacted by anxiety, worry, and stress.

Yoga can increase happiness and lead to improved mental and emotional well-being. It helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression while promoting a sense of calm and relaxation. It increases serotonin levels in the brain, contributing to a better mood and happiness. Yoga enhances self-awareness, improves sleep quality, and fosters a positive outlook.
